Nanjing

Nanjing was only two hours (or less?) from Suzhou, but by the time I got to my hotel, it was too late. The next day I went to see the Gate of Chine (Zhonghuamen). On the way back to the hotel I tried to see Confucius Temple nearby, but miserably failed (to find it).

I spent the rest of the day at Purple Mountain touring Ming tombs (OK, technically only the first Emperor of the Ming dynasty is buried there).

Nanjing at night (waiting for a night train to Xian).
