Pandas, Leshan Giant Buddha and Mt. Emei (OK, mostly pandas)
Chengdu has Panda Research Center where I spent half a day. I was lucky to see both white and red pandas; here is a red one.
I had a wonderful trip to Leshan and Mt. Emei.
Giant Buddha near the confluence of three rivers. Apparently, it is the largest (71 m) stone Buddha. The construction started in 8th century and took almost a century.
The next picture shows the size of the feet :)
Mt. Emei - one of four Buddhist sacred mountains in China.
I am very grateful to Xi for organizing the tours in and around Chengdu.
